The on-court recognition took place during halftime of the Lakers’ 138-122 victory against the Atlanta Hawks. Phonexa senior accountant Nareh Matevosyan accepted the award on Garcia’s behalf. Comerica Bank and the Lakers have been partnered for the past 15 years as part of the NBA team’s community outreach programme to recognise women in leadership for their contributions. “I’m humbled to accept this award from Comerica Bank and the Los Angeles Lakers, especially during Women’s History Month,” said Garcia. “It’s an honour to be recognised among an inspiring group of strong and highly deserving women. This recognition is not just for me but also for my team. It’s a cliche but there is really no “I” in ‘team’ – we succeed through the help of our team and embracing collaboration and teamwork.
